To paddle on the Vindel River during the evening and in to the night means that you will have the sun in your back and the fantastic red and pink sky will brighten up the river.

If you really would like to enjoy the midnight light in Lapland this might be the best way!

The Vindel River is one of our few unregulated rivers and now also a Biosphere Reserve designated by UNESCO.

About the tour

This river is fantastic to paddle on. Here we use sea kayaks and can go a fairly long distance during the evening.

The tour start at Wild Lapland´s sled dog kennel where we will try out life jackets and make sure we have everything we need for the day. Then we will take the car and go to our starting point, only 10 minutes away.

At the river we will have a safety instruction and you will be able to try out the kayaks before we get going.

On the river we can tell you about how it is to live in this area. The river has been (and still is) the life nerv in the region. People live along the river, fish here and it is one of the bigger reasons why we are here.

On this tour my intention is that you can relax and start to feel! Be present, listen to your own paddle stroke, hear how the water moves around your kayak, listen to the birds that are singing. How many different can you hear?

On this tour we have a proper “Kayakfika” This means that we stay close together and enjoy a cup of coffee while slowly drifting downstream.

On this tour you need to be minimum 15 years old and all of you need to be able to swim.

There is a chance/risk of falling into the water. Think of what you use and how to keep it safe. Strings for the sunglasses or glasses, String for your phone/camera.

Bring an extra set of clothes on tour. Pack it in a plastic bag so it does not get wet. The bag is packed in the cargo hull of the kayak which is watertight.

What to bring

Bring a shirt that you can put on, it might be a bit chilly in the late evening.

It might be mosquitos on the river, we will bring mosquito repellent.
